FAQs

Below is a list of some of our most frequently asked questions. As always, if you have any additional questions, you can always message us or call us.

Where Will I Take My Photos?

I am always looking for unique locations to take senior photos. Of course, there are always the standby locations but one of the benefits of working with me is finding the best place for YOU. Let’s explore together!

How Do I Know What to Wear?

Well before your senior photo shoot, I always meet with you to discuss options to help you better prepare for your session. You’ll learn all about what looks good on camera, how to incorporate variety into your wardrobe, and which accessories take your shoot from sweet to stunning.

**Ask about my Senior Wardrobe. I have carefully shopped to find unique pieces to add to your existing wardrobe or put together a whole new outfit.

Do I Receive Hair & Makeup Services When Booking?

Full hair and makeup are required for your photo shoot. You can absolutely add-on hair and makeup services by my talented team as part of your booking. Whether you want a natural look or over the top it will elevate your pictures to the next level. Senior portraits are an investment and I want you to look and feel your absolute best!

When Is the Best Time of Year to Take My Senior Photos?

Great question! Ideally, you should start thinking about your senior portraits your junior year. Start looking at photographers, see who fits your personality. As for when, you need to decide what your vision is for your pictures. What season do you like best? Basically it all comes down to wardrobe. Here in the south we don’t have many cold days so you can get away with warm weather clothes most of the year. But when it’s cold, it’s COLD! So grab your sweaters and beanies and have fun with it.

Typically, my senior season is September – March. If you prefer, Spring, be sure to book early in order to leave time for post-processing and product turnaround before graduation. Spring spots fill up quickly. Please book below as soon as possible if you hope to secure one of these spots. Trust me, booking your shoot for Autumn is the way to go, if you can swing it.

Do You Work with Male Seniors?

Of course! I love working with senior guys and seeing their confidence come out before my eyes, especially when I show them what they look like on camera during the shoot. While most guys are only doing it for their moms, I have not had a single one regret their session. Besides, who doesn’t love a good picture to post on social media? Guys, you know you love the attention!

What Should I Look for In a Photographer?

Another great question! Photographers are all unique and are not the right fit for everyone and that’s okay. Look through their social media or website to see their body of work. What is their specialty? Do you like what you see? Does their editing style match your aesthetic? If you like light and airy be sure you are booking with a photographer that edits that way all the time. If dark and moody is your vibe then find a photographer that fits that. You wouldn’t go to the foot doctor for a heart problem. right? In the same way you want to find someone who specializes in the type of portraits you are looking for.

I specialize in Senior Portrait Photography. That is where I put all my focus and attention. that is where my heart is! Sure, I can do other things but I will likely refer you to one of my many, talented photographer friends if you are looking for a wedding photographer, newborn photographer or a sports photographer. I am not afraid to say no if it is out of my wheelhouse and you’ll thank me for that later.

So in short, look for someone who checks off all the boxes to give you the best possible experience for your investment.

Why Did I Choose to Specialize in Seniors?

There’s just something about this time in a young person’s life that is so special to me. The end of an era and the start of a lifetime ahead. It is a time to be celebrated and to cherish and remember for the rest of your life. High school brings so many different emotions and experiences but regardless of what your experience is, I want to leave you with an unforgettable experience of feeling your absolute best. This time is for YOU and you alone. You are unique and marvelous and wonderfully made. I strive to leave you feeling better and more confident in yourself than when I first meet you. After all there’s no one more you-er than YOU. Let’s celebrate who you are at this moment in time.

Moms. Dads. Let them be them! Don’t worry, we will get some smiley pictures you can hang on your walls and send to friends and family. Classic with a twist!
